Over Five Decades of NDT Excellence

Shaping standards, strengthening professionals, and advancing Non-Destructive Testing across the region.

A Legacy of Advancing the NDT Profession

For over five decades, SAINT has played a leading role in advancing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) across South Africa and neighbouring countries. Established by dedicated industry professionals, the organisation was founded with a clear vision: to see NDT recognised as a respected engineering science. Over the years, SAINT has focused on building strong foundations through training standards, industry collaboration, conferences, and the steady growth of its professional community.

Uniting Experience. Strengthening the Future.

As the profession evolved, so did SAINT — expanding its role to support professional recognition, structured designations, and formal registration for NDT practitioners. The unification of SAINT and the SAINT Professional Body for NDT brought together decades of expertise under one structure, strengthening governance and professional oversight. Today, we continue to uphold the highest standards of practice, supporting practitioners and the industries that rely on NDT with integrity, excellence, and a forward-thinking approach.

SAINT is founded by individuals involved in Non-Destructive Testing in South Africa and neighboring countries, with a mission to get NDT recognized as one of the engineering sciences.

Building the foundation: establishing training standards, hosting conferences, and growing our membership across the region.

Advancing professionalization: working toward SAQA recognition and developing formal professional designations for NDT practitioners.

Marking the year South Africa, represented by SAINT, successfully hosted the World Conference for NDT in Durban.

SAINT Professional Body for NDT is established as a separate entity focused on professional registration and designations.

SAINT and SAINT Professional Body for NDT merge into a single, unified organization: SAINT Professional Body for NDT, combining decades of experience and expertise.
