Graham has been a Director of BAMR, a third-generation family-owned business, for 26 years. Founded 78 years ago, BAMR (www.bamr.co.za) is a trusted leader in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection solutions, serving as the exclusive Elcometer distributor in South Africa and Africa since 1947. With a rich history of providing cutting-edge NDT equipment and training, BAMR specializes in ultrasonic thickness gauges, flaw detectors, coating inspection tools, and corrosion monitoring instruments, delivering high-quality solutions to industries across Southern Africa.
A qualified accountant, Graham studied at the University of Cape Town and completed his articles at what is now KPMG. He spent four years traveling globally, honing his financial expertise in London’s finance sector before returning to South Africa in 1998 to join his father, Frank, at BAMR. Under his leadership, the company has grown from a two-person operation to a dynamic team of 10, including key account managers in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
Graham is deeply engaged in the day-to-day operations of BAMR, with a hands-on approach to customer training and support. His expertise in NDT equipment, particularly Elcometer’s advanced inspection tools and Dakota NDT’s specialized ultrasonic and flaw detection instruments, has positioned BAMR as a go-to provider for industries requiring precise, reliable testing solutions. Elcometer, a global leader in coatings and corrosion inspection, acquired Dakota NDT, further strengthening BAMR’s NDT portfolio.
Passionate about advancing the industry, Graham is the recent past President of the Corrosion Institute of South Africa, serves on the SAPMA executive, the OCCA Cape committee, and the SAINT committee. His commitment to NDT innovation and education drives his involvement with SAINT, where he supports the development of world-class NDT training and certification programs. Graham’s dedication to quality, integrity, and industry progress continues to make a lasting impact.
